Because of AP testing, I've only been working on my senior project for one and a half days, but I've already completed a variety of tasks.
When I arrived at the Habitat for Humanity headquarters, I was quickly introduced to my sponsor, Cheryl Graham. Throughout the first day, she gave me my tasks to complete. The first was to help redesign a page of the Habitat for Humanity website that Cheryl believed to be quite messy. It was nice to have a job that allowed me to make some decisions of my own. Most of the things I did were related to Habitat for Humanity's Youth United program. The web page I was redesigning was meant to give interested parties information on Youth United.
Some of the other tasks I received were more mundane; at one point, was cutting name cards. However, these tasks were the less common ones. Later in the day, Cheryl actually asked me for suggestions on how to raise awareness of Habitat for Humanity. Since I knew Cheryl had posted pictures of Youth United events onto facebook, I recommended she tag the names of the people in those pictures to make them visible to more people.
For the second day (I was only there for half the time due to AP testing), I only performed one job. I worked with the construction crew in the Restore to help make toolboxes for Youth United. This meant helping them cut the wood the toolboxes were going to be made with. I never used the power tools directly (I would've been afraid of cutting myself on the sharp blades, anyways), though I still helped.
